Charter Communications announced today the launch of Spectrum’s “Invincible WiFi,” a new internet offering that combines WiFi 7 technology with built-in 5G and battery backup to maintain connectivity during power outages or network disruptions.

The service, available to both residential and business customers, is designed to switch connections automatically when electrical or network faults occur. Spectrum says the battery component can keep the system operating for up to eight hours, while the 5G backup link prevents downtime if the primary broadband network is interrupted.
Dave Rodrian, Group Vice President of WiFi Products at Charter, said the technology was developed to support continuous connectivity during unexpected events. “By integrating WiFi 7 with battery power and 5G backup, we make sure critical moments aren’t interrupted,” Rodrian said. He added that customers will be able to continue activities like streaming, remote work, or digital transactions even when the power goes out.
The new router, which follows the design of Spectrum’s earlier WiFi 7 model, supports higher data rates, lower latency, and improved bandwidth management for homes and offices hosting many connected devices. It has also been recognized by WiFi Now as the “Best In-Home WiFi Product.”
Residential customers subscribing to Spectrum’s 2 Gig Internet plan will get Invincible WiFi at no extra cost. Those with Gig Internet plans can add the feature for $10 per month, and all other Internet customers can enable it for $20 per month. Spectrum Business customers follow a similar pricing structure: it is included with 2 Gig plans, costs $30 per month for other Internet tiers, or can be added to existing WiFi service for an additional $20.
Spectrum customers can manage and monitor their network using the My Spectrum App. More details about Invincible WiFi are available on the company’s website.
